On December 17, 2019, Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) introduced H.R. 5461, a bill to provide that the Secretary of Homeland Security may not admit to the U.S. as a nonimmigrant under certain categories aliens who are nationals of noncompliant countries, and for other purposes.  165 Cong. Rec. H10609 (daily ed. Dec. 17, 2019).

Also on December 17, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Cal.) introduced H.R. 5466, a bill to provide relief for victims of hate crimes, advance the safety and well-being of immigrants and refugees, and fund improved law enforcement and prosecution official training. 165 Cong. Rec. H10609 (daily ed. Dec. 17, 2019).

On December 19, 2019, Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Me.) introduced H.R. 5496, a bill to include Iceland in the list of foreign states whose nationals are eligible for admission into the United States as E1 and E2 nonimmigrants if United States nationals are treated similarly by the Government of Iceland, and for other purposes. 165 Cong. Rec. H12289 (daily ed. Dec. 19, 2019).

Also on December 19, Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.) introduced H.R. 5507, a bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to require an alien lawfully admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa to obtain the approval of the Attorney General before receiving a firearm. 165 Cong. Rec. H12289 (daily ed. Dec. 19, 2019).

Further, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) introduced H.R. 5509, a bill to deem certain cartel organizations to be foreign terrorist organizations pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and for other purposes. 165 Cong. Rec. H12289 (daily ed. Dec. 19, 2019).

On December 18, 2019, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Col.) introduced S. 3097, a bill to amend the INA to provide an exception from the grounds of inadmissibility for participation in a cannabis business operating in compliance with State law. 165 Cong. Rec. S7156 (daily ed. Dec. 18, 2019).
